Fluorescent protein detection gene circuitry in E.coli
Usage
This is one of the E.coli fluorescent protein detection gene circuits in the BIT-China 2023 IGEM project "Light's control iT".

Biology
When el222 gene is expressed, the photosensitive transcription factor EL222 is generated. Without 450 nm light illumination, the photosensitive transcription factor EL222 stop dimerization and then the downstream gene PBLrep functions as a promoter, then the transcript of gene mCherry starts. mCherry is a red fluorescent protein from mushroom coral, which is a various of essential reporter in cell and molecular biology.
